Keith Leon Moore, born on October 5, 1925, in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, was a distinguished anatomist and educator renowned for his contributions to clinical anatomy and embryology. He served as a professor in the Division of Anatomy within the Faculty of Surgery at the University of Toronto, where he also held the position of Chair of Anatomy from 1976 to 1984. Moore was instrumental in advancing anatomical education and was a founding member of the American Association of Clinical Anatomists, serving as its president from 1989 to 1991. His academic journey included earning a BA in 1949, an MS in 1951, and a PhD in 1954 from the University of Western Ontario.

Throughout his career, Moore authored and co-authored several influential textbooks, including Clinically Oriented Anatomy and The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology, which have become foundational texts in medical education.
